Dr. Leitner believes that patient care is of the utmost importance. He is equally committed to learning the latest techniques and investing in helpful technology, at no added cost to the patient. He was one of the first dentists in Western Michigan to offer microscopic dentistry, digital records, and laser treatments.

Dr. Leitner and our highly trained team will do everything they can to ensure each patient feels comfortable while visiting our Grand Haven, MI dental office. When you enter our office, you’ll be greeted with warmth, compassion, and friendliness. We use anesthetics during procedures to ensure you don’t feel any pain. 

Dr. Leitner also offers nitrous oxide sedation, also known as laughing gas, to ease the stress that you may feel when going to the dentist. He also creates a relaxing atmosphere in his office to help ease your anxiety and you’ll find TVs on the ceiling of our treatment rooms so you can distract yourself with your favorite show.

It’s recommended that you schedule a routine dental checkup and professional teeth cleaning at least twice a year, or every six months. This allows us to eliminate any plaque or bacteria buildup in hard-to-reach areas your toothbrush simply can’t get to. Dental exams also prevent additional oral health problems, like cavities, gum disease, and even tooth loss.

During a regular cleaning, we’ll also give your teeth a detailed polishing so you’ll leave our office with a fresh smile ready to show off. If you’ve had any gum problems or infections, our dentists may suggest coming in more often for additional cleanings to help maintain your oral health.

Maintaining good oral hygiene will ensure your teeth and gums are in the best of health. This means brushing at least twice a day, flossing daily, and rinsing between meals. It’s also important to see your dentist for cleanings and exams at least twice a year. This allows us to eliminate any plaque or bacteria from building up, and prevent cavities, gum disease, and more.

In addition, Dr. Leitner recommends the following tips for optimal teeth and gum health:

• Avoid smoking and tobacco products
• Use a therapeutic mouthwash to rinse between meals
• Use a fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristled toothbrush
• Look out for signs of unhealthy gums or gum disease
• Maintain a healthy, well-balanced diet
• Address teeth grinding, or bruxism
